thank you for your service sir, may you rest in peace knowing your partners of today have your back and your memories. they are all grate men, just as im sure Officer Barta was. i know Patrolmen Barta's story, the history of Liberty Street in Binghamton, i grew up and went to school in Binghamton, and got to know many of his co workers. I am always looking at the officers on ODMP, and this is the first time I have come across an officer i know of with out looking them up. May God hold you and your family close and may you Rest In Peace brother. You were always positive and fun loving and I will never forget the time we went for breakfast after making weight and found "FRESH SNOW!!!!" Who would have known then that your "Starsky and Hutch" driving skills were the start of your police career. Brother, you were a great teammate and an all around great guy. I attended UE with Lee where we were both on the wrestling team. USMC / Biloxi Police Retired / Lee's Friend I would enjoy sharing old pics with his family or co-workers. I went to work at BPD (Biloxi PD) at the same time he went to work at Binghamton PD. He and his wife helped my wife and I when we were expecting our first child. I went to Marine Corps Boot Camp with Lee and was stationed at Quantico with him. I lost touch with his wife many years ago. I was thinking about Lee this week when I was looking through some old photos. I am truely sorry for your family and although I know it is little help, they truely had a hero in their lives. I still remember the day, like it was yesterday. I can't believe it has been 15 years already. I know you're keeping watch over them.how proud you must be. Fifteen years has passed and we still haven't forgotten you buddy.
